I am a musician, audio engineer and poet with 15 years of tutoring, and lecturing experience in the tertiary sector. In 2009 I completed a PhD in Media at La Trobe University for which I researched, wrote and engineered an operatic audio play that was subsequently broadcast on Yle Radio 1 in Finland. Between 2012 and 2023 I taught media theory and production at the Australian Catholic University, including video, audio and post-production.

As a teacher, I consistently received outstanding student satisfaction surveys, and was the recipient of a Faculty of Education and Arts Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. I am committed to life-long learning, and in quite recently (in my mid 40s) completed two new qualifications: a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, and an AMusA on Euphonium (for which I received a distinction).

I am currently the musical director of the Daylesford Community Brass Band, and a former musical director of the Greater Western Community Band (based in Melton), the Melbourne Rainbow Band (based in Windsor), and the Albany Silver Band.

I hold an Advanced Amateur Radio qualification with the Australian Communication and Media Authority.
